About

Erin

ErinErin is a daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. The birth of Erin’s first child, Everett, inspired her to translate her counselling work to helping individuals and couples manage the challenges that come with big life transitions. Erin wholeheartedly believes that relationships are the most important gift in our lives and that building strong bonds with the people we love can heal past wounds and bring joy and hope to the future. Connecting with people is Erin’s greatest passion!

Erin is Certified Canadian Counsellor with a unique blend of experience and clinical interests. Erin received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Relations from California State University at Chico. Erin went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Counselling from Chapman University in Walnut Creek, California. Erin’s experiences as a school counsellor and as a family counsellor in the non-profit sector have prepared her to work with individuals from all walks of life, with a wide array of needs. Working from a foundation of attachment theory and mindfulness, Erin helps individuals and couples better understand their experiences within relationships.

When not collaborating with Amanda, connecting in the community and running workshops, Erin loves spending time with her husband and their two children, playing lacrosse and riding her horse, Lola.

Amanda

Amanda“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom” Anais Nin

I love this quote and find it mirrors where individuals, couples and families are when they seek counselling, the risk to do the same is more painful than the risk to change. It takes a tremendous amount of courage, strength, awareness, and willingness to contact a therapist and do the work to obtain the life you desire and deserve.

I have over 10 years of counselling experience in Canada and the United States. I have a Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy, I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor (#2800), a Meadows trained therapist (Internationally known treatment and addictions facility) and a Certified Gottman Facilitator for Bringing Baby Home Workshops.

I specialize in helping parents and couples prepare for and manage the changes and challenges that can occur when becoming a family. As a mother of multiples, I understand the transitions that happen within a relationship and family when welcoming more than one baby. I help individuals and couples as they navigate life transitions, family of origin issues, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, addictions, emotional difficulties and personal growth. Achieving this by using a blended approach from Gottman, emotionally focused therapy, attachment based, client-centered, solution-focused and family systems. Collaboratively we will dissect, examine and re-create so that you are living the life you dream. I am confident that I can assist clients in creating the shifts they desire.
